We had a great time at Waitomo Lodge! The spacious family room had a comfy king bed and a nice view of the river. The location was perfect for exploring the caves. Just watch out for the occasional train noise!

The property suffers from significant noise issues, particularly from passing trucks on the nearby highway and trains a short distance away, which may disturb sleep. The overall cleanliness could also be improved, as I noticed some cobwebs and needed light fixture maintenance in my room. Additionally, the lack of window screens allowed a few bugs to get inside, although they didn’t ruin the stay.

Comfortable rooms with good kitchen facilities, but cleaning needs improvement. Free Wi-Fi worked well.

One downside was the water situation in the bathroom. it could get pretty wet after a shower. So, if you're particular about that, just a heads up!

The family studio was quite comfortable with a second bedroom, perfect for our overnight stay while visiting the nearby caves. The beds were cozy, and the additional door for privacy on the shower gave us peace of mind. However, the constant noise from the nearby highway made it challenging to get a good night's sleep, and it would have been more convenient to park right in front of our unit.

Room 14 was fantastic. Huge windows and a comfy bed made it feel spacious. Nice kitchenette, big bathroom, and free chocolates were a sweet touch. The deck was a great spot to relax. Soundproofing is top-notch, didn't hear a peep from outside or neighbors. Perfect for a cozy getaway!
